Suffolk Plein Air Festival

Join the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts for their Plein Air Festival, taking place September 6-11, 2022. Key events include:

Tuesday, September 6
9am: Artist check-in. Drop off optional Plein Air exhibition artwork

Tuesday, September 6 – Friday, September 9, 2022
Artists’ Painting Days, rain or shine. Artists will be provided with suggested painting locations throughout Suffolk.

Friday, September 9
4pm: Judging of new Suffolk Plein Air artwork at the Suffolk Center, by Juror James Warwick Jones.
6-10pm – WET PAINT SALE Awards Reception: This special evening includes heavy hors d’ouevres, open bar, live music, and a wet paint sale showcasing the newly painted works of art by the invited and juried artists, providing guests with first access to purchasing the new artwork created during the Plein Air Festival.

Saturday, September 10
10am-4pm: Suffolk Plein Air Art Exhibition in Suffolk Center Art Galleries and Ballroom. See artists’ new artwork painted throughout Suffolk during the Festival. Artwork available for purchase! OPEN TO THE PUBLIC; free admission.
11am: Quick Draw Check-In begins at the Taste of Suffolk Downtown Street Festival. Suffolk Plein Air check-in table will be located at the intersection of Bank Street and Main Street.
12-2pm: Quick Draw painting downtown, in, and around Taste of Suffolk.
2-2:30pm: Quick Draw painters artwork finished for judging, by Juror James Warwick Jones.
2-3:30pm: Quick Draw Awards presented. Artwork available for purchase.

Sunday, September 11
9-10:30am: Unsold artwork pickup
