Rowena Federico Finn: Crowd Control
Join us for the opening reception of Crowd Control, a sculptural installation by multidisciplinary artist Rowena Federico Finn, on view in the TowneBank Gallery.
Crowd Control is built from the fingerprints of individuals from our local community and beyond; each one anonymously contributed and sealed in 24kt gold leaf on translucent capiz shells. Suspended together, these fingerprints form a luminous, floating structure that appears unified from a distance, yet reveals deeply personal marks up close.
By inviting participants to share a single fingerprint, Finn explores the tension between individuality and belonging, privacy and visibility, and how personal identity is valued in a data-driven world. Every contribution becomes both a personal gesture and part of a collective whole, transforming community participation into the foundation of the work itself.
