Afternoon Conversations: “The Search for My Grandfather: Tsuruju Miyazaki”

In collaboration with the Suffolk Public Library, SNHS will be hosting Afternoon Conversations on October 21st at the Phillips-Dawson House from 2-3 pm. Our speaker is Regina H. Boone, and she will be presenting, “The Search for My Grandfather: Tsuruju Miyazaki.”
Tsuruju Miyazaki was a Japanese resident of Suffolk, and the owner of the Horseshoe Cafe on East Washington Street. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he was arrested and sent to an internment camp. He was never heard from again. His granddaughter, Regina H. Boone, will be sharing Miyazaki’s story as well as her own journey to find him.
Afternoon Conversations is a speaker series that is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
