The work of renowned sculptors William and David Turner of the Eastern Shore of Virginia will be on exhibit at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts September 14th (opening reception) until October 21st. Both the BB&T and Norfolk Foundation galleries will house the amazing Turner creations in bronze as well as some of William Turner’s paintings. William Turner’s four published books will be available for purchase during the exhibit. The Turners, father and son, share a talent of capturing the beauty and motion of wildlife in bronze. To date the Turners have created more than 700 different limited edition bronzes and more than 100 large public commissions found throughout the U.S.

Combat Wounded Coalition, presented by GEICO Military, is hosting Jumping for a Purpose (10th annual) at Skydive Suffolk. We will have food trucks, entertainment, and fun for the family. Admission is free. Come out and cheer on our Combat Wounded and Gold Star Family members.

Kick off the Annual Suffolk Peanut Fest with a festive parade through downtown historic Suffolk. The parade stages in the Lakeside neighborhood and proceeds down Washington Street, turning left onto North Main Street and concludes at Finney Avenue. Sponsored by Dominion Virginia Power. Free and open to the public!

A hair-raising encounter with the spirited side of Suffolk. Follow a costumed guide through the shadows of historic Main Street discovering stories, legends and "unexplained occurrences" by lantern light. Tales of unsolved mysteries and unresolved affairs abound throughout Suffolk's historically hip Ghost Walk. Reservations required.
