    The Suffolk Art League in cooperation with the Suffolk Art Gallery presents their newest exhibit, "Life As I Know It: Recent Works by Heather Nygaard." This exhibit will be on display from July 9 to August 20, 2021 at the Suffolk Art Gallery. Local artist Heather Nygaard’s premier solo show is a collection of new oil paintings that explore themes such as mental health, motherhood, and imagination. She is the winner of the Suffolk Art League's 2020 Annual Juried Exhibition.

  2. TGIF Summer Concert Series: Buckshot

    July 30, 2021, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Bennett's Creek Park & Marina

    The TGIF Summer Concert Series moves to Bennett's Creek Park for the second half of the summer! The park will open at 6pm and the bands will take the stage at 6:30pm. The music will have you jamming in your seat until 9:30pm. Lots of family fun, with food vendors, bounce houses, adult beverages, and merchant vendors.

  3. Headlines and Footnotes: A Downtown Suffolk Walking Tour

    Downtown Suffolk contains a multitude of antique buildings, new businesses, old stories, and fresh food! “Headlines and Footnotes: A Downtown Suffolk Walking Tour” explores the streets of downtown Suffolk’s historic district, complete with revived century-old mansions, repurposed schools and warehouses, forgotten architectural gems, and a glimpse into future developments. This tour departs from Nansemond Brewing Station at 212 E. Washington Street.

  4. Galaxies Night Hike

    July 30, 2021, 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Former site of Driver Naval Radio Transmitting Facility

    Presented by Suffolk Parks & Recreation. Enjoy this two-mile hike illuminated by starlight. We'll also highlight the nocturnal wildlife we encounter along the way on our nighttime adventure. Flashlights will be provided. Ages 18+ (children welcome with accompanying adult). Registration deadline is July 28.
