The 34th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition is Hampton Roads' largest and longest running juried exhibition for photographic works. It is open to all professional and amateur photographers. The reception and exhibit is free and open to the public.

Suffolk Public Library has put together a week-long list of free events designed to get people out of the house to do something interactive and different each day. All events are free and and open to the public; more information can be found on the Library's website or the Facebook page.

THIS HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER . . . Join historian Kermit Hobbs as he leads a fascinating Civil War battlefield tour. The morning tour bus will leave the Seaboard Train Station Museum at 9:30am and return around 11:30am. This tour will include the Nansemond River Overlook, the Fort Connecticut site, Deserted House battlefield, and the G. W. Smith home site. Reservations and payment may be made with Suffolk Nansemond Historical Society at 757.539.2781. Reservations are only secured when they are paid.

This terrific activity for both school-age children and adults will feature the identification, habitat, the benefits, and dispelling myths of snakes. Live snakes will be available for observation. Reservations are encourage and may be made by calling or emailing the Suffolk Visitor Center. Program participants will receive a voucher redeemable for a discount on one of Suffolk Tourism's 2018 Great Dismal Swamp guided tours. Program will be held outdoors -- please dress accordingly.

The Suffolk Youth Advisory Council along with the Suffolk Office on Youth will be presenting the Annual Increase the Peace Fashion Show. Proceeds from the event will benefit the March of Dimes. The event will feature local youth modeling various types of attire. The event allows for a diverse group of young people to come together to collectively help make a difference in the community.

Join Suffolk Sister Cities International at "Crystal Nights: A Venetian Carnevale," on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 6:30-11pm at the Cedar Point Country Club. There will be wine and beer, a buffet dinner, and silent and live auctions, as well as dancing! Cocktail attire suggested. Proceeds from Carnevale will go toward supporting Project Peanut Butter and activities sponsored by Suffolk Sister Cities International.
