  4. Cedar Hill Cemetery Stroll

    An official Virginia Civil War Trail site, Cedar Hill Cemetery has long been an attraction for history buffs and even walking groups. The Suffolk Division of Tourism offers a guided stroll through the pleasant 32-acre cemetery, rich in history and natural beauty. The 90-minute daytime tour will offer unique insights into Suffolk’s heritage as tour goers traverse the cedar-lined terrain dotted with timeworn headstones. Reservations are required and cancellations are expected no less than 48 hours prior to scheduled tour. Call the Suffolk Visitor Center at 757.514.4130 to reserve your spot. Special rates are available for groups of 12 or more.

  5. Lunch with Santa

    Come out for "Lunch with Santa" at the Northern Shores Recreation Center. Children ages 12 and under can participate in this holiday-filled event with a donation of one new, unwrapped toy per child that will be donated to a local charity. Adults wishing to have lunch can do so for $5 per person. Not only can children share their lists with Santa, they can also play games for fun prizes and take a free professional photo with Santa.

  7. Movies Under The Stars: The Polar Express at the Suffolk Seaboard Station Railroad Museum

    The Suffolk Division of Tourism will host the first of their "Movies Under the Stars" series on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Cozy up for a FREE showing of the holiday classic The Polar Express, shown outside in the fresh evening air, right under the stars! Attendees are invited to bring their own blankets and seating, and children are encouraged to dress in their pajamas! There will be concessions available for purchase, and the train station gift shop will be open for early holiday shopping. The Polar Express is the story of a young hero boy on Christmas Eve who boards a powerful magical train. What unfolds is an incredible adventure that follows a doubting boy taking an extraordinary ride to the North Pole. During the unbelievable ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that teaches him about friendship, bravery and the true meaning of Christmas, and shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. Featuring the vocal work of Tom Hanks.
