From Stage to Screen at the Suffolk Center: The Phantom of the Opera


Join Suffolk Tourism, in partnership with the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, as they proudly present From Stage To Screen, a series of three former Broadway masterpieces that found huge success on the big screen. The series concludes on Thursday, March 11, 2021, when The Phantom of the Opera transports you to 19th century Paris. Admission is $3 per person, and the movie will begin at 7 p.m. Please note that only 100 seats are available, to allow for social distancing in the 530-seat Birdsong Theater; masks are required. The Phantom of the Opera is a 2004 American musical drama based on the eponymous stage musical. Young ingénue and soprano Christine finds herself tutored by a disfigured and murderous musical genius who lives beneath the Paris Opera House. Despite her love for another man, the Phantom’s obsession with her grows, leading him to kidnap Christine to be his eternal bride. Who will be able to stop this dastardly plan? With an all-star cast that includes Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson, Minnie Driver, and Miranda Richardson, this film is 143 minutes and rated PG-13.
