American Girl Program: Featuring Rebecca Rubin

AG_RebeccaRubin2019_ NewsFlash

Rebecca Rubin, born in 1905, is from a Jewish family. Her mother and grandparents immigrated from Russia and maintain their family heritage. Rebecca wants to be an actress when she grows up, but her family wants her to be a teacher. She is thoughtful and generous and often accompanies her father to help work at his shoe store. Rebecca has a knack with business and making money, similar to her father, and is very good at crocheting. Because she gets hand-me-downs from her older twin sisters, Rebecca has two sets of almost all her outfits and shares them with her cousin Ana. She loves to make people laugh and is described as being lively with a dramatic flair—a little bossy at times and tends to want things to go her way.

There will be 3 sittings: 10am, 11:30am, and 1pm. There are 20 girls per sitting (ages 5-12). Space is limited and reservations are required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The program is free to attend but donations are welcome. Call for reservations at 757.934.0822 or email, beginning 14 days before the event. If you are unable to attend the program (once you have a reservation), please call us. We always have a watiting list, and we hate for a child to miss this opportunity!
